This study points out that 63% of Americans cannot even name the four Gospels of the New Testament. I think the main problem is that Americans in general are intellectually very lazy. They don't question or test the beliefs that they were brought up with, because that would take too much effort. This is exacerbated by an inadequate educational system that encourages conformity to a majority that happens to be religious. I haven't read any of the other articles yet.
