A silly argument. I have family here as you well know. And also because I love America and hope that one day it will be the country that I and many others hope it to be.

Well, according to this article, Bible reading has been on the decline.

http://www.irfi.org/articles/articles_51_100/bible_reading_declines.htm

I will bet you $20 that a significant fraction of those Americans who said the Bible is true haven't read the Bible in the first place. This study points out that 63% of Americans cannot even name the four Gospels of the New Testament. I think the main problem is that Americans in general are intellectually very lazy. They don't question or test the beliefs that they were brought up with, because that would take too much effort. This is exacerbated by an inadequate educational system that encourages conformity to a majority that happens to be religious.

I haven't read any of the other articles yet. So far this looks like it has some promise.
